Mountain Pine is home to the Brady Mountain Recreation Resort and Campground, where your fur-pup is welcome, on leash. This resort boasts several different camping experiences, from tent walk-in sites to RV pads with all the necessary hookups, as well as beachside spots. It also offers a unique trail concept: the Geo-Float Trail, which takes visitors on a 16-mile trip in boat, kayak or canoe with interpretive self-guided information about the fantastic geologic features you’ll see. For those who want to stay on solid ground, there is a land-based trail as well. Fido is welcome to join you for both woofderful adventures! Central Ave/ Golf Links Rd

This neighborhood in nearby Hot Springs is where you’ll find the Hot Springs Bark Park, a fully fenced park with water faucets and buckets, benches for the humans to sit on while the fur-pups cavort unleashed, biodegradable waste bags and separate large and small dog areas. Before or after your pup’s romp in the park, you may want to walk her down to the adjacent creek and along the trail that follows the creek’s course. If all this exercise has made you hungry and thirsty, head over to Don Juan’s Mexican Bar and Grill where you’ll find a large patio where you and your pupster can share a casual meal of typical Mexican fare. Don’t forget the pina colada or chocolate Kahlua cake for dessert! Bone appetit!

Park Ave/ Bower St

Hot Springs is only 12 miles from Mountain Pine, and so is the Hot Springs National Park, a multi-faceted park with the soothing waters of the springs as its centerpiece, but with much more to see and do for dog lovers and their furry besties. The natural hot springs are naturally a higher temperature than the body can tolerate, so developers of the park built bathhouses to modulate the temperature and these are open for public use; note that pets are not allowed inside any buildings, but can go with you anywhere outdoors. And there is lots to explore! Besides the springs themselves, there are various edible fruit bushes you can harvest, with limits; a tower that allows you a bird’s eye view of the springs and their surroundings; and there are places to camp, for one night or up to 2 weeks. Best of all, there are abundant trails and pathways for walks with your furry bestie: at least 20! This park is a must-do if you’re in the Hot Springs area!

Lake Hamilton

The Hot Springs’ Lake Hamilton neighborhood is home to Garvan Woodland Gardens, a large, wooded park that welcomes you with your furry or fluffy baby to stroll their grounds and take in the scenic nature around you. Besides shrubs, trees and flowers, you’ll find numerous species of birds and many small mammals for Fido to track with eyes and nose. Guided tours of the gardens are available by golf cart. The Chipmunk Café offers an outdoor patio for a lunch date with your pup. You can enjoy a picnic lunch on their grounds as well. Garvan is a quiet and peaceful place to spend some time enjoying the beauty it offers, or just relaxing. Barktiful!
