North Thompson is a gorgeous area with an active and outgoing community. Along the northern border of this neighborhood lies Gateway Island, a beautiful area that curls around a sizable lake. Reynolds/North Thompson Lane is a pleasant area with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Taking up nearly half of this neighborhood is Stones River National Battlefield. This historic area was a turning point in the civil war, and is a beautiful natural area that’s stocked full of wildlife. Take a walk through here with your pup to appreciate the history that brought this country where it is today, as well as the scenic natural views that are well maintained by volunteers to keep the area looking nice. If you’re coming from out of town, Home2 Suites is located just south and allows one pet up to seventy five pounds for a small fee.

Indian Creek is a lovely little community with a humble atmosphere. If you’re coming from out of town, the Residence Inn is located by plenty of amenities and is friendly toward two pets of any size for a small additional fee. For a relaxing stroll, you can take your pup along a small path off of Fortress Boulevard near Puckett Creek and enjoy the sound of running water while you take in the fresh outdoor air. This small, scenic path is dotted with occasional trees and is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Your pup will definitely thank you for the outing and will want to go again and again!

Southridge Boulevard is a beautiful neighborhood with an outgoing community. Located off Veterans Parkway at the southern end of this neighborhood is Barfield Crescent Park, a huge green area with plenty to do. Follow the concrete pathways south long enough and you’ll hit gorgeous trails that wind through the most breathtaking natural areas of this park. This park is kept lush by West Fork Stones River and is host to a small variety of wildlife. Remember to keep your pup leashed at all times, as this park isn't fenced in.
