Newport is a seaside city located on Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island. The city is famous for its yachts and mansions. Visiting Newport with a dog is a great idea, since there are a lot of dog-friendly activities that you can enjoy here!

With Gansett Cruises, you can tour the coast and harbor of Newport with your pooch by your side. You have to keep in mind that dogs are not allowed to move along the boat, and the deck might be slippery, so it's not great for senior dogs. The staff is friendly and is happy to provide water for your pooch if he needs it. If you're just looking for a quaint walk, you can visit the Cliff Walk Trail. This trail is dog-friendly, but you have to keep your pup on leash. The trail begins near Easton's Beach.

If you want to know more about Newport, you should take the Newport Tour & Guide. They have dog-friendly vehicles and their staff will watch your dog outside while you explore some of the indoor attractions. Dogs of all sizes are allowed without having to pay an additional fee. Another way to have fun here is to go on the Antique Yacht Collection boat charters, where dogs are welcome. They offer two-hour, four-hour and all-day private tours.

The Newport Dog Park is an off-leash park located on the Connell Highway in Newport. There are mixed opinions about this park from the citizens of the Newport. The good sides of the park include the secure fencing that the park provides, and also the fact that the park is divided into areas for small and large dogs. Moreover, the park is pretty spacious so your dog can run and romp as much as he likes. However, the park doesn't have a water station, so you'll have to bring some water. Also, there aren't many places for human visitors to sit; there are only one or two benches. The park tends to get muddy and pretty busy at times, too, so keep that in mind.

It's a semi-fenced park that overlooks the Newport Harbor and offers mesmerizing views of sunsets and boats sailling off into the distance. The park is great for sitting and thinking about life with your best fur-iend, enjoying the view, having picnic with your loved ones, or simply sunbathing. The park is a non-smoking park, and you can almost always find parking in the streets in front of it. Moreover, it offers poop bags for cleaning up after your four-legged baby. The park is located in Central Warwick, around 26 miles away from Newport, and is a securely fenced dog park. It offers separate areas for small and large dogs. The park is really big so your pup can get lots of exercise while simultaneously socializing with other dogs. Furthermore, there are benches and chairs where you can sit and watch over your fur baby. The large dog area is pretty shaded as well. There are also lots of toys in the park. The ground is mainly sand and dirt, so make sure to bring some cleaning supplies in case your pup gets dirty.

If you're feeling more like going to the beach than going to a park, then you should visit the Sachuest Beach, located just 2.5 miles away from Newport. During peak season, which is from May 1st to September 30th, dogs are allowed on the beach from 5AM to 7:45AM. In the off-season, dogs are allowed all the time. The beach is 1 mile long, and the sand is soft and suitable for your dog's paws. Dogs must be on-leash at this beach, and if they're not, you may have to pay a fine of up to $100, so keep your bud on a leash! Bring water and waste bags and enjoy the day at the beach.
