Oconee National Forest isn't a dog park -- obviously -- but your pooch can still have a ball here! (A tennis ball, that is.) Although it will take you approximately fifteen minutes to get here from North High Shoals, the short trip is well worth it. This national forest is incredibly large and beautiful, and has plenty of activities that you and your pooch can enjoy together. You and your pup can spend a day hiking, a weekend camping, or a quiet afternoon fishing. If you have the proper permits, you could even take your pup hunting with you and cook up a delicious dinner! Just keep Fido on a leash, and don't forget those waste bags -- no one likes a litterbug!
