North Smithfield began as a Rhode Island farming community in 1666, and it was then incorporated into a town in 1871. This town has several historic villages within it that bring added charm to an already lively community. Over 12,000 people call North Smithfield home, and they enjoy all the amenities that a big city has while still benefiting from the small-town feel of North Smithfield. There are many pets in North Smithfield, as well as several outdoor spots for exploring along with your canine companion, whether it's visiting historical sites or walking through parks and beautiful neighborhoods. North Smithfield has its own animal hospital as well as horse care centers. If you branch out further into Rhode Island, you'll find several other veterinary clinics to take great care of your pets.
In the northernmost part of North Smithfield, you'll find a great restaurant called Gusto Pizzeria and Spaghetteria. Mouth watering yet? Not only do they serve excellent pizza and pasta, but they also welcome small dogs at one of their seven outdoor tables! You can also get dishes like sandwiches, wraps, and burgers, and desserts at Gusto's. Once you're well-fed, you can get out and explore the North Smithfield area with your dog and discover all the furrific things this town has to offer!
I just graduated from George Washington University, majoring in Human Services and Social Justice. I have previously worked at a pet store called Metro Mutts, where I learned how to properly fit different types of harnesses. I have had dogs growing up, and I recently adopted a terrier mix, Cookie, in August. I will be available for scheduled and demand walks around Northeast DC.
