The John Galvin Park neighborhood surrounds the 42-acre park between Fourth Street and G Street in the northeast section of the city. This large park has plenty of open green space for on-leash walking and exercise. The park has picnic sites and shelters for picnics and barbecues. Schimmel Dog Park is a recent addition to the main park, and is the pawfect place to let Fido stretch his legs and run free. This fully fenced grassy area gives dogs a chance to run and socialize. There is a separate enclosure for large and small dogs. Leash-free exercise and a bit of nose-to-nose socialization gives dogs that extra wag in the tail.

Cucamonga-Guasti
Cucamonga-Guasti is a place with many outdoor activities for people and their dogs. The Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park located at 800 N. Archibald Avenue makes for a enjoyable day trip. The park has two ponds for fishing, and there are scenic walkways for dogs to take a human on some on-leash walks. This 150-acre park also has pedal boats and a water play area. It’s unclear whether or not dogs are allowed to enjoy these amenities with their humans, so it may be a good idea to call ahead of time to ask. This scenic getaway seems like it would be located out in the country, but it is just in a dog’s backyard.
