One of the most populous cities in Glenn County, California, Orland is located in the northern part of the Sacramento Valley. Just west of the Sacramento River, this city is a friendly and agricultural community which may not have an abundance of pet-friendly spots. But don't fret just yet! You'll find paw-lenty of dog-friendly fun in the vicinity. Visit Corning, just north of town, or Chico, less than 15 minutes west, to enjoy parks, hiking trails, and pet-friendly cafes and restaurants! However, if you need some veterinary help, you won't have to travel -- Orland has 6 highly-rated veterinary clinics in town.

If you want to stay within Orland with your buddy, get your leash ready and play in the shade at Lely Park, the central public park in town. Easy walking trails, benches, and picnic spots with grills welcome visitors with pups, but you should keep Fido leashed at all times.

If you're looking for some off-leash fun, gear up for a short ride to Corning, a small city north of Orland that's home to a furrific pooch playground: Camp Brainy Dog! This is a huge fenced dog park with comfortable benches and plenty of locals playing with their mutts year-round! The park has a natural terrain which can get muddy when it rains, so bring a towel if visiting in bad weather.
