A visit to the 12-mile long, 600-foot-deep Fremont Lake is a necessity! Many come for the boating and fishing, and there are areas where Fido can swim and separate areas for beachgoers.
For a quieter day, head to the Boyd Skinner Park which has lots of open, grassy areas to throw down a blanket and relax with pup by your side. There is a fishing pond designated for the youngsters, and picnic tables scattered throughout. Don’t forget to take a stroll on the paved walking path around the park.

The city of Rock Springs' namesake neighborhood is home to three dog-friendly parks. Bicentennial Park features lots of open spaces to roam with Fido on a leash, a playground for the kids, and many picnic tables. Or try Big Sandy Park which has similar features, plus a variety of sports courts. Finally, the Arrow Springs Park, accessed through the Arrowhead Subdivision, is open for all and is pup-friendly throughout. This is the place for youngsters to fish on their pond and to enjoy a picnic lunch together. Chemical toilets are on-site at all of these pawtastic parks!
The Crossroads West Park, in the West Rock Springs neighborhood of Rock Springs, is small in size, but makes up for it with features. Crossroads West is welcoming to your pawtastic pup, but requests dogs stay on leash while visiting. This park has dedicated sports fields where you can let pup run on a long leash. Or enjoy wandering around the grassy areas, perfect for relaxing. There are picnic shelters and tables, horseshoe pits and playground equipment. Be sure to bring plenty of water to share and clean up mitts to keep this park pristine. Chemical toilets are provided on-site.
Visit Centennial Park in the Downtown area of the city of Green River, southwest of Pinedale. Centennial Park is a one-acre community park dedicated to offering residents and visitors green spaces to relax and unwind. This park is pup-friendly, but be sure to keep Fifi on leash. There are landscaped gardens to enjoy wandering through, sculptures scattered throughout, and plenty of playground equipment for the kiddies to enjoy. Restrooms and drinking fountains are provided on site, as well as park benches to rest upon. Picnic tables and a gazebo make this a popular family gathering spot.
The Riverview neighborhood, in the city of Green River, southwest of Pinedale, offers Expedition Island Park to residents and pawtastic visitors alike! It covers 7 acres and is a local gathering spot for families. There are new playground features and a separate play area for the young-at-heart. The park provides picnic areas scattered throughout with BBQ grills, and even pup-tastic jogging trails and a nature trail to walk with Fifi. Here you will find also direct access to the Greenbelt Pathway, a multiuse trail through the area. Relax on the provided green open space. Restrooms and drinking fountains are on-site.
Head to Indian Hills Park, in the South Green River neighborhood of Green River, southwest of Pinedale, for a pawtastic time with your pup. There are beautifully landscaped grassy areas for you to relax and unwind, and playground equipment for the kiddies. Sports courts here include a sand volleyball designated area, basketball, as well as soccer in their open play areas. This is a great place to let Fido roam on an extended leash. Picnic tables, relaxation benches, and BBQ grills are spread throughout the park, along with portable restrooms. Be sure to bring mutt mitts.
