Pinnacle, North Carolina is a small unincorporated community in southeastern Stokes County, bordered by the picturesque Sauratown and Blue Ridge Mountains. This charming township doesn’t have much to offer as far as shopping malls and fancy restaurants go, but what it lacks in creature comforts it makes up for in raw beauty and its polite small-town feel. Though there are no vets, groomers, or pet stores within the community, there are plenty to be found just a few miles away in the neighboring towns of Pilot Mountain and King, North Carolina.

Pilot Mountain State Park is Pinnacle’s pride and joy, drawing two- and four-legged adventure seekers from near and far. Depending on what you fancy, you and your pup can navigate this striking 3,735-acre park by canoe, horseback, or paw.  There are over 15 miles of hiking and canoe trails where your leashed companion can explore all glorious smells the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer. Just be sure to pick up anything your pet may leave behind!

The Dan River Company in the neighboring town of Danbury will ensure your water baby has a tail-wagging good time while passing through. This boat rental facility loves its furry customers and is more than willing to accommodate your puppy’s canoe, kayak, and shuttle needs! This furrific adventure will make your pup feel like a bone-a-fide riverboat captain!
