Paso Nogal Park
Located at the western end of Concord, Paso Nogal Park is a huge recreation area with plenty of space and outdoor activities. It will take you about 3 minutes to get to the park from Pleasant Hill. You'll never want to leave this pawesome place; just be sure to head back home before dusk. The area has plenty of walking trails for your leashed mutt to explore and sniff, but the real gem is the off-leash park! Paso Nogal Dog Park is a super fun place to exercise, run and romp with canine friends, or play Frisbee! Shade, benches, and drinking water are available. Be aware that the park is closed on Sundays.

Newhall Community Park
Newhall Community Park is a nice, leafy retreat in the southeastern part of the city, set near the Cowell neighborhood and off the busy Clayton Road. This park is dog-friendly and welcomes your leashed pooch on the walking trails to explore the walking trails. But that's just the least of what you can do here! The community park has a nice extension for pooches to play off-leash and make some new canine companions. The dog park is fenced and shaded, but does not provide any drinking water facilities. If you feel like grabbing a bite before heading further, check out Taqueria Los Gallos Express, a dog-friendly eatery with outdoor tables located not too far from the park.

Marsh Creek Road South
Clayton is located approximately 20 minutes from Pleasant Hill. Here, you'll find Regency Woods Park and its nice dog-friendly extension, Clayton Dog Park. The dog-friendly area is located opposite the Clayton Community Park and picnic area. This dog park is small, but it's fenced and fully equipped with everything you need to have the perfect day! The only thing not available at this park is doggie waste bags, so you'll need to bring some. The local dogs (and their owners!) pawsitively love this park, so if your pup is the social type, he'll have no trouble making friends here!

The eastern part of Walnut Creek is almost entirely occupied by the Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area, which has plenty of outdoor activities and opportunities to adventure with your pooch! Once in Walnut Creek, feel free to visit the area of Shell Ridge Open Space, offering more than 31 miles of walking trails and paths, an extensive playground, and even a fishing pond.
