Want to enjoy the great outdoors with your pooch? Visit the Lowell neighborhood’s Elijah Bristow State Park, about five miles outside of Pleasant Hill in Dexter. This park boasts 847 acres of forest, wetlands and meadows where you and Fido can frolic. There’s so much to do - float the Willamette River, fish, birdwatch, bike and hike on more than 10 miles of trails. There’s even a huge off-leash dog area! Near the park’s Wheeler Road entrance, check out the Camas Meadow Off-Leash Area – it’s fully fenced-in with agility tunnels, cleanup baggies, picnic tables and drinking water. There’s also an adjacent partially fenced-in area with tons of vegetation and a creek where your dog can play off-leash. Dogs are welcome in the rest of the park, too, as long as they’re leashed.
