Raleigh is one of the country’s earlier planned cities and features many historic sites, including the Borden Building and the Century Station Post Office. The city’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department manages over 200 parks, 112 tennis courts, 9 pools, and more than 100 miles of paved greenway—a variety which guarantees that visitors and their canine companions can easily find an area to explore.

The Capital Area Greenway Trail System connects many of Raleigh’s parks, providing areas for joggers, bicyclists, hikers, and dog walkers to enjoy the outdoors. These trails complement the parks themselves and offer recreational opportunities such as bird watching, fishing, and picnicking.

Swing by the Millbrook Dog Park for some off-leash exercise. This park has separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, as well as a Picnic Shelter situated between the two. With plenty of trees, shade, and room to run, the dog park is a popular spot for Raleigh’s resident canines.

After you and your pup have both tired yourselves out, take a break and relax at one of the city’s dog-friendly restaurants. The Black Cat Café may have a feline name, but it gives top-notch service to canine guests, providing water and treats to dogs out on the patio. With so many places to explore with your dog, you’ll find it’s easy to fill your day here in Raleigh.

When we realized the mistake Marcos immediately headed over to my new apartment to take Zeus on his walk! I really appreciated his willingness to do that. Zeus had a wonderful walk, he is now a happy and tired boy! I hope to use Marcos's services again in the future :) "
