The Lunada Canyon Trail is the perfect place to take a hike with your pup. The trail is only .95 miles long, but it gives you a beautiful view of the peninsula. If your dog isn’t up for hiking, then check out Fred Hesse Junior Community Park. This park is one of the more popular parks in the city that has a lot of open green space and a nice walking path throughout it. Point Vincent
The Alta Vicente Reserve is a 55 acre stretch of land that wraps around the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall. The reserve has a trail that takes you past the Battery Barnes bunker, which was constructed in 1942 to protect the North against the Catalina channel and held artillery for Rancho Palos Verdes. Walking the trail will give you an amazing view of the ocean. If you get hungry after your hike, check out the two eateries located right by Alta Vicente Reserve. Nelson’s Restaurant is a casual joint that serves surf and turf and is known for their desserts. Nearby, Asaka serves traditional Japanese cuisine, including sushi. Both restaurants have an outdoor patio that is dog-friendly.

Palos Verdes Drive South
The Forrestal Nature Reserve is a fun spot to take your pup for a great day of exploring and exercising. The reserve is 155-acres and has some of the best native wildlife habitats that Rancho Palos Verdes has to offer. While visiting the reserve, your dog needs to stay on leash.
