The town was founded way back in the early seventeenth century, and it’s home to many historical sites, including 53 cemeteries! Rehoboth is also known as the birthplace of American public education -- early settlers here pooled money to build a schoolhouse and hire a teacher for all students, regardless of income or background. Evidence of the citizens’ civic pride is everywhere, from the large variety of small local businesses to the organization of the Summer Rock Fest.

There’s no dog park in Rehoboth, but that doesn’t mean you and your pooch should get all "melan-collie"! The town has a couple of pawesome community parks that are ideal for leashed walks, and you’ll find some fabulously fur-friendly hiking options right on your doorstep. Rehoboth may be small, but there’s certainly room for a veterinary clinic, and emergency services are available in nearby Seekonk. Pawtucket Dog Park is a real mutts-visit! The dog run is a little difficult to find -- it’s right behind the duck pond in Slater Park -- but once your pooch gets through those double gates, you two are sure to decide that the search was worth it! There’s plenty of room here for even the most rambunctious fur-ball to leap about to their heart’s content, and there’s a separate area for small dogs, too, so your pup can play and socialize no matter their size. Bags and water are provided, but be careful -- the park’s surface is mostly grass, so bring a towel in case your buddy gets muddy.

If you two are looking for a little variety in your off-leash exercise, why not check out Bell St Dog Park in Federal Hill? This furrific dog run is huge -- there’s plenty of space for your pooch to run around and tire themselves out in, or for a spirited game of catch or tug-of-war! As an added bonus, there’s plenty of shade, and tired owners are sure to appreciate the benches. Bags are provided, but there’s no water fountain -- you’ll need to bring your own bottle. Unlike the Pawtucket park, there’s no separate small dog area, so be mindful of your pup's temperament while playing here.
