Rohnert Park is located just an hour north of San Francisco, and is a sister city to Hashimoto, Japan. Named after the Rohnert family that once owned the area, the town of Rohnert Park had boasted the Rohnert Seed Farm, which was a major horticultural success story of its time. Today, the town is less focused on seeds and more on community, including its canine residents. Nine veterinarians and clinics are well placed to serve the needs of your pup when the need arises.

Dog friendly Rohnert Park welcomes you to its Lady Bug Park, which offers beautiful green spaces, trees, and recreational facilities. This park connects to a small trail system along the Laguna de Santa Rosa for a sniff-tastic walk with your pup. Golis Park has something for everyone to enjoy, such as playgrounds, open fields, and basketball and tennis courts are available in the park for those with sports in mind. The sidewalk around the park is great for a leashed walk.

If you're in the mood for Korean BBQ or Sushi, Honey Cuisine has three pet-friendly outdoor tables. Get breakfast for dinner at Big Daddy's Diner where breakfast is available all day, and you can dine with Fido on the dog-friendly patio. Stay in one of Rohnert Park's dog-friendly hotels if you are visiting, such as the Best Western Inn which allows two dogs for an additional fee, or the Motel 6 Rohnert Park where pets are always welcome.

Bring your pup and join in the dog-friendly life of Rohnert Park.

All pups love Alicia Park and its 5-acres of space for roaming on leash. The large open grassy area is perfect for a walk or a toss of a Frisbee. Leashed walks around the shade trees surrounding the park create a sniff-tastic adventure as your pup follows the sights and sounds of the squirrels and birds. There are a number of picnic areas and three playgrounds for children. Afterwards, take time to stop by Don Julios for tasty Latin dishes, or Mi Ranchito for traditional Mexican plates and margaritas. Both restaurants welcome your pooch on their patios.

Pick up your leash and let's go to the neighborhood Caterpillar Park with your pup. Your pooch will enjoy the wide-open field of lush grass that is always well manicured, while you can enjoy the myriad of benches for resting spread throughout the park. Sunflower Park is a 3-acre neighborhood park and is best known for its tennis courts. You and your pooch can enjoy the circular walkway next to the tennis courts that takes you around the rest of the park on a leashed stroll, or get in a round of Frisbee on the open grassy space in the park. Dorotea Park is 6 acres of good times for everyone in the family. The park has multiple play areas, picnic areas, a baseball field and basketball court. A walking path circles the park for a dog-tastic walk in the fresh air. You can also use the exercise equipment placed along the walking path. Slow down and enjoy the flowers planted in the southeast corner of the park on your way by. During the fall when the trees lose their leaves, the park provides a fabulous opportunity for a run through piles of leaves for Fido and the kids.

Roberts Lake Park surrounds the Roberts Lake Reservoir. The reservoir is frequented by fishermen and birdwatchers, but a walk with your pooch close to the water can be a real treat. Your dog will be even more excited about The Roberts Lake Dog Park nearby that has two separate fenced areas, one for large and one for small dogs with water available in each. The surface is grass with mulch in the muddy areas. After your run in the park, drop into Bacchus Restaurant and Wine Bar for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a casual setting with dog-friendly outside tables. If you need a place to stay, try the Double Tree by Hilton Sonoma - Wine Country, where up to two pets are welcome with you for an additional fee.
