The small town of Ross, located about 18 miles north of San Francisco, is the pawfect place to escape big city life and enjoy some time in the great outdoors with your pup. Due to the low density of development, the town is a good place to recharge your batteries and bond with your lovely mutt, playing ball in the parks or dining out in the neighboring San Rafael. If your hound doesn't feel well, he can get all the TLC he needs at Ross' two veterinary clinics.

Natalie Coffin Greene Park, conveniently nestled on the banks of Phoenix Lake, is a green public park with plenty of shade, walking trails, benches, and paths to the water. Your pup is welcome to join you on-leash for a stroll around the lake to watch some local wildlife. Or, get some culture in the area of Gerstle Park, home to an elegant historic estate and peaceful surroundings.

For great fun and even better company, head northeast to San Rafael’s Boyd Memorial Park, offering scenic walking trails, an extensive playground, and picnic facilities for you and your leashed pup! If you want to get a drink, check out Peet’s Coffe and Tea on 3rd Street, with outdoor tables for pups and plenty of flavored beverages.

"Madison was amazing!! I don't even know where to start I have so many great things to gush about. We have a big rescue Saint Bernard that pulls on leash and got so excited she had an accident but Madison wasn't dissuaded and even cleaned up. She's heaven sent in our opinion! "
