This park is known for its beautiful ume and sakura cherry blossom trees. 500 of these trees were donated to the park by the Kairaku-en park in Ibaraki, Japan in 1992. This 575 acre park has 75 acres that are developed for walking, hiking, youth camping and a variety of sports. Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the park with their owners. For a relatively easy hike and views of pretty wildflowers, try the 4.2 mile Schabarum Trail!

It’s from this neighborhood that you can access Powder Canyon, a large natural area that features some great dog friendly hikes! The Black Walnut Trail is somewhat short, but ascends quickly to some beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The Powder Canyon Trail is another great option, stretching about 5 miles from the horse corral to the horse stable. There are several stretches over exposed hills, so be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your dog! Your pup is allowed to enjoy and explore along with you, as long as he stays leashed and is picked up after.
