Looking to log some miles with Fido? Head to Sedro-Woolley’s City Center neighborhood. There, you can hop on the 22.5-mile Cascade Trail. You’ll find this trailhead at Polte Rd and Coffman Ln. You and your leashed pup will love the scenery along this Rail-Trail with its lush vegetation and mature trees shading the path. Biking and horseback riding are also pawpular activities, as is fishing in the river that runs adjacent to the trail. Other fur-iendly, fun spots in the City Center neighborhood include several parks. Lions Park, Memorial Park and Bingham Park are pawsome places for picnics and short walks. Learn more about Sedro-Woolley’s history at the Harry Osborne Park and Caboose, where you can see part of an original steam train used by loggers in olden days. Leashed dogs are welcome at the parks, just remember to bring cleanup baggies.

Nevitt Rd/ Avon Cutoff

You’ll find lots of tail-wagging fun just four miles from Sedro Woolley in the Nevitt Rd/ Avon Cutoff neighborhood in Burlington! This 51-acre park has tons of open space, plus amenities like athletic fields, picnic areas, a playground, horseshoe pits, restrooms and tons of parking. Also in the City Center neighborhood, you’ll find Maiben City Park, Railroad Park and Rotary Park. Maiben City Park and Rotary Park both have lots of grass and covered picnic areas, while Railroad Park is home to a replica of the town’s original train station from the early 1900s. Hankering for some exercise? Check out Burlington’s Bay View neighborhood, about four miles from Sedro-Woolley. Leash your dog and start your adventure down the State Route 20 Arboreta Trail near Lions Park. This 1.5-mile trial is perfect for walking, jogging or biking with your pup. Some of this tree-lined trail is paved, while other parts are gravel. There are benches along the way if you need a rest or just want to take in the sights.
