Dog Areas in Shoshone

1 Trail

Shoshone is a small town that sits on the edge of the Death Valley National Park. Sitting in between the mountains of Nevada and Baker, California, this small town is a great getaway if Fido is looking for a quiet place to relax and hike around with you. With one veterinarian in town, your dog will be in good hands while hanging out with you in Shoshone.

Take a great hike on the Shoshone Badlands Hiking Trail. The trail is about three miles long and will take you through the Amargosa Desert where you and Fido can explore. Beware that this trail does not offer any shade, and there is a lot of wildlife, like rattlesnakes and coyotes. While hiking, you can enjoy a beautiful scenic view of the desert and the mountains that surround you.

If you both want a little bit of a smaller trail, then check out the Shoshone Wetlands Hiking Trail. This two-mile trail will take you through the Amargosa Desert, pass the Amargosa River, and around a few other ponds and wetlands. This trail connects to other trails that you can explore. Make sure to bring plenty of water along with you while you hike this trail.

After seeing the amazing trails and scenery of Shoshone, your dog will love exploring this beautiful town with you.

The Nopah Range Wilderness Area is a beautiful area with 106,623-acres of land that you can visit with your four-legged friend by your side. The wilderness area offers hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking, and canoeing, but make sure you follow the strict rule of "leave no trace" and pick-up after yourself and your pup. Hiking is great in this area with elevations reaching up to 6,395-feet. While visiting, your dog needs to stay on a leash. Make sure to bring plenty of water along since the wilderness doesn't offer any shade, and you will be hiking through a desert, so it will get hot.
