Head over to the Arbaney Park for a great day in the sun with your furry pal. The park is filled with a playground, an open field, and a picnic shelter. There is a nice hiking trail throughout the park where you and your pup can get a walk in together. The Ponderosa Park offers outdoor music and a food garden, plus a paved walking path lined with benches. If Fido is looking for a hike then hop onto the Arbaney Kittle Trail and explore the 20.6-mile trail. With a 4,803-foot elevation gain and an out and back route type, you and Fido will feel the burn on this trail. Both of these great parks are located in Basalt, and only four miles out of Snowmass. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash when you go and explore the parks together.

El Jebel

The Crown Mountain Park is a woofderful park to explore and enjoy with Fido. The park offers a soccer field, basketball courts, tennis courts, a gazebo for shade, and a playground. The park sits along the river with a walking trail that you and Fido can use. If Fido isn't a fan of the river, the park also offers a one-mile track that you both can walk around. Inside of the park, there is also the Crown Mountain Dog Park where Fido can run around off-leash and socialize. The park is separated into a small and large dog section and offers water and plenty of trees for shade. This pawsome park is located in El Jebel, and only seven miles away from Snowmass.

West Snowmass

Grab Fido and take a nice hike along the Capitol Creek Trail. The trail is 16.6-miles long with a 5,229-foot elevation gain and an out and back route type. The trail will take you along the Capitol Creek where your dog can stop and get some water. The trail is known to be difficult, and locals warn that the last two miles of the hike are the worst, so be prepared when you head out on it with your furry pal. While hiking this pawsome trail, your dog needs to stay on a leash the entire time. The West Snowmass Trail is an 11.4-mile trail with a 5,834-foot elevation gain and an out and back route type that will give you and Fido a great workout for the day. You both will hike through the western area of the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness where you can see tons of wildlife, so make sure Fido stays on a leash.

South Snowmass

Take Fido on an easy hike along the East Snowmass Creek Overlook Trail. Your dog will love this shorter hike which is only 5.2-miles long with a 1,450-foot elevation gain and a loop route type. The trail will take you through the southern area of the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness, where you will be covered by trees for shade and get a gorgeous view of wildflowers. The Maroon Snowmass Trail is a little harder of a trail with an 18.2-mile distance and a 3,241-foot elevation gain. With an out and back route, you don't have to worry about getting lost on this trail that also travels through the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness. Your dog needs to stay on a leash when you are exploring both of these pawsome trails.

Aspen Core II

If your dog isn't the hiking type, check out the Paepcke Park. This small park offers a gazebo, picnic tables, and a large open space for fetch. The park is filled with benches that you can sit on and relax with your dog, and surrounding the park, there is a paved path where you and Fido can get a good walk in together. The park is also filled with trees so you both can get some much needed shade. Located in Aspen, and only nine miles out of Snowmass, your dog will love taking a break with you and hanging out at this dogtastic park.
