Dog Areas in Spencer Mountain

Have you ever dreamed of living in a really small town? Spencer Mountain, North Carolina might be a great place for you to consider. As of 2016, the population was only 36. We don’t mean 36,000 or 3,600. We mean 36. Such a small population means you could even elect yourself to the city council, and that’s exactly what two people did in 2015. You might think this town is new, but it was actually founded back in the late 1700s. While you’re there, make sure to snap a picture of the abandoned Spencer Mountain Mansion – rumor has it that it’s haunted!

It’s the perfect town if your dog is reactive to other dogs and people, but even if he isn’t, fear not! While there are no dog parks or dog-friendly restaurants in Spencer Mountain, there are plenty of pawesome options within a short drive’s distance. There are also plenty of veterinarians in the surrounding towns and cities, so you can pick a vet that works best for your furry family member. If you’re looking for a small town to call home or are just looking for some peace and quiet, Spencer Mountain awaits!

Just south of Spencer Mountain, you and Fido can go visit George Poston Dog Park! This popular bark park has two secure and safe sections where your dog can play. If he’s larger, he’ll go to the area for large dogs, and if he’s smaller, well, you get the gist. The dog park spans over five acres, so there’s plenty of space for even the most rambunctious dogs to play. Water isn’t provided by the park, and it can get quite hot, so make sure to bring some along. You’ll also want to have some waste bags on hand so that you can clean up after your pooch.
