Springfield Gardens is a suburban city that provides many homes to people who work in Brooklyn and Queens. The small area gets its name from natural gardens that grow along the Springfield Creek that cuts through the city. Springfield Gardens consists of low-rise suburban apartments and houses, making it a lovely place to raise a family and pup.
Springfield Park is the largest park in the city, and one of the best place to walk Fido, even for tourists. The park has over 8 acres of land with 1.2 miles of paved walkways, a pond for fishing, lots of trees for shade, and open fields. There are also recreational fields like baseball, tennis, and basketball fields, with a playground, restrooms, a pavilion, and picnic tables. Pups have to remain on a leash inside the park, and have access to water fountains, clean-up stations, benches, trash bins, and nighttime lights.
Brookville Park is another pawsome green space to explore with your pup. The park has a small pond and creek that cuts right through it, with thick trees, open areas, and trails made from concrete and dirt that have a distance of over 3 miles. There are fenced-in tennis and basketball courts that are dog-friendly, with baseball fields, water fountains, benches, a playground, a pavilion, and a gazebo. You have plenty to do here, from playing in the open area or take a nice long with Fido.
The town is small and has no veterinarian of its own, but the closest animal hospital is only 3 miles away in the town of Valley Stream. Although there is no vet, Springfield Gardens still gives a lot back to its four-legged residents in the way of dog-friendly parks.
