Stuart serves as the county seat within the Marin County in Florida on the Treasure Coastline and has about 16,000 inhabitants. Being on the coast, the scenery is gorgeous at any time of the year, and you will never need a coat because the average temperature is about 70 degrees. If you live here, you can just throw that coat away!

There are some great museums in Stuart. On NE Ocean Blvd. you can see the Elliott Museum, which is right by the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center. The Stuart Heritage Museum is on NW Flagler Avenue, and the House of Refuge Museum on Southeast MacArthur Blvd also has the Bathtub Reef; an extremely popular place to swim, and a local favorite. If you go over on SW St. Lucie Avenue you can walk the huge Riverwalk, and the Sailfish Splash Waterpark over on SE Ruhnke Street is a fun place for the whole family to enjoy. You can also try snorkeling, boat tours, or a fishing charter if you enjoy fishing.

Some of the dog-friendly places in Stuart are Mulligan’s Beach House on SW Osceola Street or the Pelican Café on SW Flagler Avenue, which has the best key lime pie in Florida. And the Poppleton Creek Dog Park on SE Central Pkwy is a great place to let Fido run free before you head back to the hotel.

The Sneaki Tiki is a Caribbean-themed restaurant that welcomes you to sit on the deck with your dog. Certain menu items can be customized so that they’re Fido-friendly, but other pups visiting this area often beg for the chicken and rice. You will love the semi-secluded deck that is tucked away so that you don’t feel like you are in the hustle and bustle of the city as people go by.  The shaded patio is a cool spot to escape the hot Florida days. And Fido won’t have to lift a paw to get good dinner service -- his water will come at the same time you receive your own drink!
