The first mile has several picnic areas and restrooms for trail-goers; after that, it’s mostly rural and flat. You’ll pass through a few small towns, but it’s important to pack enough water. The end of the trail comes up on an old, beautifully restored railroad depot.

Roberts Pass Trail offers is a simple 6.5-mile railroad-turned-walking-trail. It’s managed by the nonprofit organization Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, which works to convert old railroad tracks across the country into asphalt trails for walkers, bikers, horseback riders, cross-country skaters and anyone else who’s active. The trail, which runs through Madison County, is completely dog-friendly. Most of the trail is on farmland, but there is also some shade along the path. The trails is wheelchair accessible. You can find parking for the trail on Maple Street at the trail's western end in London and where the trail meets Wilson Road SE in the east.

There are several trails, ranging from half a mile to 3.5 miles. Just make your dog is on a leash that’s no longer than six feet. The park is open from 6:30 a.m. to dark.
