The Hugg-Thomas Wildlife Management Area was once the estate of the founder of the town of Sykesville. It is comprised of 275 acres of land altogether. You can even visit the ruins of the Hugg Mansion, built in the 19th century. This wildlife area is open for hiking, hunting, and bird-watching throughout the year. Hunters will find deer, rabbits, and doves all through this park. Wild turkeys also roam the property and make for quite a sight if you come across one!
