Taunton is a New England city located in Bristol County. Dogs living here know their town has a pretty impressive past. In 1637, members of the Plymouth Colony purchased the land from the Nemasket Indians. Taunton eventually evolved into an industrial stronghold, producing iron, bricks and textiles. Now it is a thriving community and home to several pawsome parks and open spaces.

There are over a dozen neighborhood parks and fields that welcome four legged patrons. Parks like Weir Park, Hartshorn Park and Davol Field are on the smaller side, but provide open green space for Fido to sniff around. For a little more room to roam, head over to Memorial Park. Take your pup for some laps around the walking path. His tail will wag with delight as he gets some exercise.

If you are just visiting Taunton and need a pet friendly place to stay, make a reservation at Holiday Inn Taunton Foxboro. This puptastic hotel opens its doors to furry guests. Two dogs up to 30 pounds can stay for an additional fee. Your pup can doze off to dreamland in one of their deluxe rooms, and get all rested and ready for another day of fun.
