The commercial Thai Town district features some ethnic architecture, including two Thai folklore-inspired statues marking the entrance to the area, and the decorated facade to the large supermarket located here, with colorful garlands and a Buddha image. Around busy thoroughfares such as Hollywood Boulevard, there is lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic to watch out for. The Hollywood Freeway along the west border of the community also contributes to noise and creates an impediment to pedestrians on the western border of Thai Town. There are plenty of sidewalks and pedestrian ways separate from roads, but because this area is very busy, you will want to be careful to keep your dog secure on-leash and make sure he is accustomed to the neighborhood's sights and sounds if you venture out in the area

Located adjacent to Thai Town in Little Armenia, the Barnsdall Arts Park provides public access to a park with galleries, programs for youth, and other locals, and the opportunity to enjoy art exhibits. The park has open spaces, trees, and trails to enjoy, and you can view or participate in art projects featured in the park. Dogs must be kept in certain areas, and on-leash. Just north of Thai Town, the Ferndell Trail can be accessed. This trail leads north into Griffith Park. This short trail features changes in elevation and amazing views along a stream with tropical plants and shady Sycamore trees. Even when other spaces in the area have turned brown from arid conditions, this area tends to remain green and lush. There is even a cafe at the top of the trail, where you can stop for refreshments. You can continue on to Griffith Observatory and the park and access large natural areas with lots of trails and rougher terrain for adventurous hikers, and their canine companions. Nearby there is a natural area with an outdoor stairway referred to as the “Stairs to Hollywood Boulevard” this is a great place in the neighborhood to go for a jog and run off some of your pup's extra energy!
