Tolland, Connecticut is a grrreat place to bring your dog with you to get away from busy city life. The city is located at the crossroads of the former rail lines that once ran through here. Tolland was once a toll town, which is how it got its name. This cozy locale has a small-town feel, and the locals are friendly, so if you're looking for a place to relax and unwind, look no further! You'll find two vet clinics right in town, with more options for specialty and emergency care available a short drive away.

Tolland is dedicated to providing furrific recreational spaces to its residents and visitors. Crandall Park is not only the biggest park in town, but it is also one of the first parks. It is around 400 acres of space where you can walk, fish, and hike. It is open all year long for everyone to enjoy, and there isn't a fee to get in.

The high school has a walking track that is open to the public before and after school. You can bring your dog to walk the lighted track, but you must keep him on a leash and clean up after him. There are even walking groups that meet here before breakfast so that no one has to walk alone!

You can come play with your dog as long as he is on a leash. You will need to bring drinking water with you as well. This park is open all year long from dawn to dusk. Please remember to bring doggie waste bags so that you can clean up after your dog. You and Fido will pawsitively love the tranquility at this park.

If you don't mind a twenty-mile trek, then you should head to Colchester Dog Park. This dog park is well cared for by the city. It is open daily from sunrise to dusk. This park is a great place to let your pup off her leash so she can sniff out some new friends. The doggie cleaning stations are stocked and the water stations are clean. The only complaint is that there are lots of holes from dogs digging. Only bring toys that your dog doesn't mind sharing. Tennis balls can be found all over the park for the pawfect game of fetch; just be aware that there's no separate area for small dogs.

Glastonbury Dog Park is less than thirty miles away. This pawpular dog park is a wonderful place to bring your social hound since there are lots of pups to play with here! The park is completely mulched and has no grass, which means no messy paws. There are water bowls, but the park doesn't provide water, so bring some with you. The waste stations are always stocked. Maintainance is performed weekly in the mornings, but there is no set day for it. This is a barktastic park for all dogs, but you will want to keep a close eye on smaller dogs because they might be able to squeeze through the gate!
