Mcnear is a neighborhood in eastern Petaluma not far from Haystack and separated from the city center by Lakeville Highway and Redwood Highway. Featuring a number of pet-friendly restaurants at the very western end of the borough, this neighborhood is home to the expansive Shollenberger Park and Rocky Memorial Dog Park. The dog park is nestled in the heart of the park and is very pawpular during the afternoon. The roomy area can easily accommodate both big and small pooches. The park has a secure fence but no seating or drinking water. It is a good spot to go over some drills or play fetch with a Frisbee!

Petaluma’s downtown area is centered on Petaluma Boulevard, which is home to museums and entertainment venues as well as cinemas and shops.
