Upper Arlington is a bustling city that rests on the eastern shore of the Scioto River, only 5 miles northwest of Columbus. The city is sister cities with St. Andrews in Scotland, and the southern half of the city is designated as a historical place that still has many older ranch-style homes. Even with all the activity and tourism the city gets, the town still provides plenty of resources and attention to the four-legged residents of the town. Though small, Upper Arlington still provides a veterinarian to take care of its pups!
Residents of the city can enjoy the Griggs Reservoir Park, one of the best parks in the city that is dog-friendly and has riverfront scenes, large open areas, 1.2 miles of walking trails, and scattered trees that offer lots of shade. The area has multiple fishing powers, a boat launch, a pavilion, a playground, and restrooms. Pups will have to remain on a leash while inside the park, but will have access to clean-up stations, water fountains, and benches.
Thompson Park is more inland and has some of the largest open areas of the city, with 1.3 miles of wandering paved trails, open space for sports and running around, and 4 enclosed baseball fields. Leashed pups are welcome in the park and have plenty of room to run around and play, or walk along the paved walkways, with access to water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations.
Upper Arlington offers plenty of dog-friendly parks, like Northcrest Park and Smith Nature Park, and just may be the perfect spot for you and your pup!
