Downtown
Downtown has storefronts and picturesque walkways for on-leash exercise. Coco Canine Cabana Indoor Dog Park at 400 Elm Street gives downtown dogs a place to have fun on a rainy day. Coco’s has two areas for dogs to play in. Small dogs have an area separate from the larger ones. Toys, balls, and play equipment are available. Coco’s also has special clothes and treats at the Boutique! Grooming services and overnight boarding serve the Downtown dog and human well. Also in this area is Annie 39 Downtown Place. This AirBnb is located on Margaret and is conveniently located near Valparaiso University.

North
The North neighborhood has many green spaces for dogs and their people to explore. Kirchoff Park, located at 400 Roosevelt Road, has 11 acres of green space, large trees, picnic sites, and shelters. Dogs and their people get a chance to stretch some limbs and perhaps share a bite to eat. Dogs must stay on leash while using the park. The Old Fairgrounds Park and the Butterfield Family Pavilion is on 704 McCord Road. The Fairgrounds Park has some green spaces and a walking track. Glenrose Park is a 20-acre Park on Glendale Boulevard. It is a pawpular area for people and dogs to get some on-leash exercise.

South
The South neighborhood doesn't have much in the way of services for people. It does, however, have a country club for the canines living there. Royal Acres at 3554 S.Sturdy Road has a daycare, boarding facility, and 5-acre outdoor dog park for its member dogs. The Dogs at the Club even have their own indoor swimming pool! The Club is a 60-acre campus, with 40 of it being wooded. South of there is the 840-acre Aukiki Wetland Conservation Area with its numerous trails to walk on leash. This area is home to many ducks and migratory fowl. Just don't let Fido get too curious! Dogs can enjoy this unique scenery on-leash with their human companions.

The West neighborhood gives dogs and their people some outdoor spaces to go and exercise on leash. The Westside Park, located at 157 Westside Park Ave., is a 15-acre park with a bit of green space. Forest Park is an 11-acre park that has a few scenic outdoor green areas to walk on leash. Forest Park has a gazebo and a couple of shelters that give shade while eating a picnic lunch with your pup. Bicentennial Park is in the northwest corner of the neighborhood, located at 175 Burlington Road. It encompasses almost 16 acres of open space, and shelters are available for a get-together with family and fur-iends.

Twenty-two miles north of Valparaiso is Michigan City, Indiana. Michigan City is a small town that has a some dog-friendly places. The Bark Park at Creek Ridge County Park, located at 7943 West, is a fully fenced, 3.25 Dog Park that has an area for small and large dogs, an obstacle course, water onsite, and benches for human companions. Registration and fees may be paid on a daily or annual basis. Michigan City also has several dog-friendly restaurants. Bridges Waterside Grille has outdoor deck seating.
