There are five parks and a walking trail in the city where you and your pooch can enjoy some fresh air and exercise together. If need a veterinarian, you'll find three clinics about 14 miles southeast of here, in Plymouth.

Take your pup to Scarborough Park to stretch your legs in some green space. This 40-acre facility includes athletic fields, an observation area, and walking trails. Dogs can join you here if they're on a leash and you clean up any messes.

Head about nine miles northeast to Potato Creek State Park for an outdoor adventure with your canine pal. The 3,840-acre facility includes a large lake with boat access, campsites, picnic areas, and several hiking trails. Dogs are welcome to accompany you as long as they're on a leash that's no longer than six feet.

Plan a weekend getaway with your furry friend at Hidden Lake Paradise Campground. This facility includes a fishing pond with boat access and has both primitive and electric sites available. Non-aggressive dogs are welcome as long as they're kept on a leash.
