Although just a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of the Jersey Shore, Wall Township boasts a relaxed, rural vibe, which is all thanks to its agricultural heritage. Not only will you find numerous neighborhood parks in Wall, but there is also a large state park, as well as a veterinary clinic, here, making this the pawfect spot for some downtime with your dog.

There are many aspects of Wall Township that dogs love, but the favorite will always be the Allaire State Park. This park is home to a variety of interesting features, from a preserved historic iron-making village to fishing docks and bird watching platforms. The best way to explore the park is to take one of its four marked trails, which do also connect on to many more miles of unmarked trails.

If you would prefer a shorter walk in a neighborhood park, there are plenty to choose from in Wall Township. Dolan Field/ Green Acres is where you will find sports courts, a large field, a playground and a walking/ jogging track, while Community Park has the same facilities, but also a few picnic benches.

The neighborhood of Hurley's Pond shares it name with one of the prettiest parks in Wall Township; Hurley's Pond Park. This 25 acre expanse of lush greenery is centered around its large pond, and although there are no marked trails within the park, there are still a few dirt tracks that you and Fido can follow that will take you to the pond. There is a tail-wagging array of different plant species here, from black cherry and willow trees to Japanese honeysuckle and partridgeberry, all of which will provide a feast for Fido's nose. Dogs are welcome to use this park, but do need to be kept on a lead.

Although North Wall is quite a residential neighborhood, there are a couple of small but fun parks here worth checking out. Begin at the Camp Evans Park, which is located in quite a historic area and contains a couple of baseball fields, open grassy spaces and a short paved path. North Wall also provides access to Airplane Park, where you will find a large playground that is especially popular on the weekends. Both of these parks are pawfect for a short dog walk, but make sure you have a lead, doggie bags and some drinking water with you at all times.

Campbell/ Baileys Corner is quite a large neighborhood, and is home to a couple of green areas that are pawfect for a walk with Fido. The largest is known as the Open Space Acq Wall, and this is a passive park, ideal for dogs who enjoy sniffing around in nature. There are a couple of areas of woodland here too, giving Fido plenty of variety. There is another recreation area in the neighborhood just off Baileys Corner Road. There are eight sports fields in total here, including a couple that are multi-use, as well as a nature area with shady trees and a winding walking path.

The neighborhood of 11th-14th in Belmar is right next to Wall Township, and is where you will find one of the most scenic parks in the area. This would be Ferruggiaro Park, a park famous for its large lake, complete with sandy stretches of shoreline. These mini beaches make for a picturesque walk, and you will likely meet quite a few other dogs here. Also in this neighborhood is Three Acre Park, with its playground and picnic benches, as well as a paved path that circles its way around the park. Dogs are welcome in both parks, but do need to be kept on a lead.

Corlies Avenue in Neptune is next to Wall Township, and thanks to all of the pawtastic walks to be found here, will no doubt get Fido's tail wagging. The highlight of this neighborhood is that it provides access to Shark River Park, which extends out for 988 acres on both sides of Shark River. There are quite a few facilities here, from a playground and sports courts to pond fishing and ice skating, with different activities available each season. You will also find seven hiking trails here, ranging from the half mile Bridge Loop, which is a picturesque and relatively easy walk, to the two mile forested Hidden Creek Trail.
