Warrenville, Illinois was settled by Julius Warren. He came here to escape the life he felt he was failing at in New York. He and his family made it their job to help new settlers build their homes and establish their homesteads. They even ran the stagecoach line and later the rail line. The original inn that was built by Warren is still standing, and was remodeled in 2002.
Today, Warrenville still thrives with the small-town charm and sense of community that the Warrens helped establish all those years ago. You can tell that the residents of Warrenville consider their pets family -- there are three vets in this tiny town.
If you would like some green space to come and play in, head on over to Lion's Park. It has shaded, paved trails that are easy to walk. There is a playground for the little ones, too, which makes it pawfect for a family outing. If you come in the spring, you can even find some red berries to pick! The park is kept as natural as possible, which makes it a relaxing spot.
Cery Park is a busier park, but it does have lots of open green space. You will love that you can bring your dog to enjoy some wide open room for running and playing. This is the main community park, and you will often find dog-friendly events that you and Fido can attend together.
Hi, my name is Abbie! I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, and I also attend UIC on a weekly basis. I cannot walk down a street without acknowledging or petting a dog when I see it. I am a full-on dog lover, and if I could financially take care of 25 dogs I would. I love staying active by walking, running, playing fetch and anything in between. I am so excited to meet you and your pup, and I can't wait for the adventures we have together!
