Located in the Heritage Village community of Southbury, this off-leash park includes a small dog enclosure and an all dog enclosure. The section for all dogs isn't entirely fenced in. Instead, it's bordered by natural boundaries like trees and other plants. Throughout the 14-acre dog park, you'll find a variety of wooded paths to wander with your dog, and there is also access to a river from the dog park. This park provides visitors with seating, shade, and waste disposal supplies, and generous donors entirely fund it.

Sandy Hook

The Newtown Park and Bark dog park's motto is, "a tired dog is a good dog," and your dog is sure to be both tired and happy after a visit to this off-leash park! It's located in the central Newtown, Connecticut area of Sandy Hook, and it's less than a half-hour drive from Washington. The dog park is slightly bigger than two acres, and it has a general dog area as well as a separate enclosure reserved for little dogs. There's seasonal drinking water and water play features at Newtown Park and Bark, and there's also a year-round agility course. Often, there are canine-focused vendors set up around the park, too!

A 20-mile drive southeast of Washington will take you to the Naugatuck Dog Park. It's located in the Wedgewood/Jones neighborhood of Naugatuck, and this off-leash dog park is a three-acre space with different sections for big and small dogs. The Naugatuck Dog Park has a great reputation, and it's known for being frequented by friendly dogs and humans. The park is also consistently well-kept with mowed grass and minimal doggy messes left behind. There are seating areas for pet parents throughout the park, and there are also seasonal water fountains and waste disposal supplies. Other features of the Wedgewood/Jones neighborhood include restaurants, spacious residential homes, and tree-lined walking paths.

New Milford, Connecticut is another town in Litchfield County, and it's less than ten miles from Washington. The southern New Milford area known as Candlewood Point is also where you'll find the Candlewoof Dog Park! This off-leash park is maintained entirely by volunteers, and it includes a big dog section and a small dog section. The big dog section also houses agility equipment where your dog can show off her skills to her friends. As this dog park is funded by donations, they offer an optional $20 yearly membership for people who want to contribute to the park.

The southwestern corner of New Fairfield, Connecticut is a little more than 20 miles from Washington. This is where you'll find the Corner Pond neighborhood and the New Fairfield Dog Park. This off-leash park has separate sections for big and small dogs, and visitors love that it is so clean and well-kept.
