It’s easy to see why -- River Park is home to Waterford’s very own section of the River Trail, which winds its way for two miles past lush grassland along the serene Tuolumne. The walk is mostly flat, but be careful -- as Waterford sits on a bluff, there’s a steep staircase leading down to the trail itself. Be sure to bring waste bags and water!

Just a thirteen-mile drive from Waterford, Modesto has the distinction of being one of the few Californian cities with a compact and walkable downtown.
