The terrain may be slippery in some places, but it’s nothing your pup’s paws can’t handle. Your dog will also love checking out the sand dunes, patches of seagrass, and piles of driftwood. South Gold Beach

Does your pup need a little adventure in his life? Grab his leash and make your way down to Cape Sebastian State Scenic Corridor. Nestled right on the coast, this Gold Beach park is just 10 minutes from Wedderburn. Although it’s often overlooked, it is absolutely gorgeous and has expansive views of the coastline to the north and south.  As you venture down the 1.5 mile trail, you’ll be surrounded by groves of Sitka spruce. The trail winds down some switchbacks and provides pawsome opportunity to watch the crashing waves. Chill out with your furry BFF in Hunter’s Cove before making your way back to the car.  Don’t forget to bring drinking water and clean up bags.

Port Orford

Sisters Rock State Park is 15 minutes north of Wedderburn in Port Orford. It’s unmarked from the coast highway, so many people drive right by this puptastic spot without realizing it. Since it is also undeveloped, you’ll have a completely au naturel experience. Follow the dirt path to the rock monolith ‘Sisters’ that jut out into the ocean. The largest rock has a huge cave that waves crash into. During low tide, you and your furry friend can explore the surrounding beaches and tidepools. Keep your eyes open for rusty remains of an old gold settlement from the 1850s. Facilities are not available, so be sure to bring plenty of water.

Pistol River

Looking for a new place to take your canine companion? He’ll absolutely love spending time in Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint. Located in Pistol River, this beautiful coastal park is about 20 minutes south of Wedderburn. If your pup loves feeling the sand beneath his paws, he will be in heaven. Stroll through the rows of sand dunes that are sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the ever changing Pistol River.
