If you head east from West Mifflin across the Monongahela River, you will arrive in the borough of White Oak. This neighborhood is the home of White Oak Park. The park is over 800 acres, and it is an excellent place to visit for dog owners — there is an off-leash dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs as well as drinking fountains. The park itself also has grassy fields that are great for picnics and some hiking trails on the hills. Renziehausen Park is a smaller, quieter park that is across from White Oak. While there isn’t a dog park here, leashed dogs are welcome, and there is a small pond in the center of the park.
