The city of Westlake Village, California is a gorgeous mountain town located in the Conejo Valley. Filled with lakes and open spaces, Westlake Village is the outdoor lover's dream, making it a perfect place to soak up the sunshine with Fido in tow.

The closest dog park is just a hop, skip, and a jump away in Thousand Oaks, nearly three miles away from Westlake Village. The Conejo Creek Dog Park is a recent installment, featuring large and small dog areas as well as doggie water fountains and shade trees. Don't need an off-leash area? Westlake Village's local parks (Three Springs Park, Canyon Oaks, Foxfield, Russell Ranch, and Berniece Bennett Park) all welcome leashed dogs.

Westlake Village's location in the Santa Monica Mountains offers access to many scenic trails for those looking to hike. The Cheeseboro Canyon Wildlife Trek is an option for beginners, or those just looking for a short stroll. The 2-mile path offers beautiful views of tall oaks and canyon creeks. The more challenging 7-mile Sandstone Peak Trail takes you to the highest peak in the Santa Monicas, boasting breathtaking vistas.

Of course, no outing to Westlake Village is complete without a stop to the Paramount Ranch, located just a few minutes away in Agoura Hills. A staple for Hollywood westerns, this old movie set resembles an old ghost town, with a Main Street and nearby wilderness hiking trails. On-leash pooches are encouraged to enjoy a stroll through the ranch.
