White Bear Lake is a small scenic town just north of the capital of Minnesota, which is St. Paul. There are two vet clinics in the area that are five miles apart in White Bear Lake, both of which provide emergency in addition to routine care.

There are many eateries in White Bear Lake which welcome the whole family, furry members included! Washington Square Bar and Grill has a seasonal menu and live music; Olive’s Fresh Pizza Bar offers many pizzas to try; and Ingredients Cafe has a laid back atmosphere and also hosts live music. These restaurants all have outdoor seating for the family and Fido. If you are more in the mood for coffee check out Caribou Coffee, where there is patio seating.

If you need a place to work off the sugar high, check out White Bear Dog Beach. They have a 100-foot long area where dogs can swim. Need a dog park? Fifteen miles away in Woodbury is Dale Road Dog Park, a fenced park with walking trails for the family. If you're looking for a more intense hike, try out the Bruce Vento regional trail. This trail is 7.97 miles and is open for leashed dogs. If you’re looking for an even longer trail, check out Gateway State Trail, which is 18.3 miles long.

This quaint community is home to the White Bear Lake Dog Beach. This is a great place for your pooch to have fun if they like water. Your pawesome pal is allowed to swim in the designated area for dogs, but be careful; it’s not fenced in, so your dog should respond well to voice commands. The water here is shallow and the shoreline is kind of rocky. Your pooch can play off-leash as long as they are under your control and are not aggressive.
