Wilmette, less than 20 miles north of Chicago's Inner Loop, is a pet-friendly community in Cook County. This populated suburban area includes two trails and several parks, including one facility with a dog beach. When you need professional attention for your pup,  you can find assistance at one of the three veterinary clinics in town.

Take your pup for a stroll through a small field of Native Illinois Prairie at Centennial Park on Old Glenview Road. This facility includes community gardens and a large open space where you and Fido can play some frisbee together. Dogs need to be on a leash up to ten feet long. 

Just south of Wilmette, you and Fido can walk or jog on some furiffic trails in Lovelace Park. This 17.8-acre facility has a paved path that winds around the open spaces, athletic fields, and pond area. Dogs can join you here if they're kept on a leash and you clean up after them.

When you want an outdoor adventure with your special pal, head to Blue Star Memorial Woods on the west side of Wilmette. Here, you'll be able to enjoy a picnic in a natural setting, hike through the woods and view the wildlife, or connect to the North Branch Trail for an extended walk or jog.
