The Tilghman Road N neighborhood is in the northern part of the city, bordered by the Toisnot River. The best place to go for kids, sports enthusiasts and dog walkers is the J Burt Gillette Athletic Complex. There are open spaces, recreational fields, and play areas surrounded by thick forests. Leashed pups are welcome at the complex and have a number of activities they can participate in, like walking along the paved paths, playing in the fields, running around in the fenced-in baseball courts, or relaxing under the pavilion for a picnic. Additional amenities for your pup include water fountains, nighttime lights, clean-up stations, and benches.

Wiggins Mill
Wiggins Mill is a small, but residential neighborhood, with rows of homes and small shopping district. Residents of the neighborhood head to Westwood Park, a unique area with trees and open fields, with paved paths and nature trails through the trees. This peaceful park features multiple playgrounds, swing sets, a baseball diamond, pavilion, restrooms, and picnic area with grills. Leashed pups are welcome inside the park, and have access to water fountains, benches, and trash bins. Also in town is a dog-friendly restaurant known as Brewmasters. The hometown brewery offers craft beer and delicious pub grub, available to be served outside in the dog-friendly seating area, with complimentary water bowls for Fido.

Killette-West
The neighborhood of Killette-West is on the west side of Wilson, backed by residential homes to the north and farmland to the south. The best place to walk Fido here is the Five Points Park, a fenced-in and grassy field with trees, a soccer field, and baseball diamond. Although fenced-in, dogs are still required to be on a leash inside the park, but can run around in the open space, or take a walk on the sidewalk on the outside of the park. Also in the neighborhood is the Wilson Botanical Gardens, an indoor and outdoor display of local and foreign flowers. Dogs are welcome in the outside walkways of the gardens while they are on a leash, but are not allowed to go into the buildings at any time.

Lucama
The town of Lucama is 9.5 miles southwest of Wilson, made up of rural farmland and short rows of residential homes and businesses. Pet owners and walkers of Wilson travel here thanks to Acid Park, a quiet but beautiful park in the town that offers tree-lined paths, shaded sitting areas, open fields, access to the pond for fishing and boating, and parking. There is no beach along the pond for swimming, but Fido is welcome to go to the shore's edge, run and play fetch in the open field, or take a peaceful walk through the trees. Pups are not required to be on a leash, but you should remember to bring water and clean-up bags.

The neighborhood of New Hope is 5 miles away from Wilson, in the town of Elm City. The neighborhood has some great features, like a lake, thick forests and open farmland as far as the eye can see. The lake is called Lake Wilson and along it is a park known as Lake Wilson Park.
