Winnabow is a peaceful farming community about 12 miles southwest of Wilmington. There are no veterinary hospitals in Winnabow, but the nearest one is just a quick, 6-minute drive away in neighboring Leland.

Winnabow does have some places that you can visit with your furry friend, so don't fret! Pawfect for active pups, the 55-acre Town Creek District Park features a 2.5-mile paved walking trail, wooded nature trail, and dog park. The dog park has two separate off-leash areas for large and small canines, plus shaded spots for cooling off. If your pooch doesn't feel like socializing, go for a leashed walk on the pathways that wind past the park's picnic shelter, playgrounds, and athletic fields and courts.

Does your pup love to explore the outdoors? Then head to the Brunswick Nature Park! This park offers 911 acres of undeveloped ecosystems, wetlands, waterways, and vistas that various wildlife call home. Enjoy the miles of walking trails and scenic views with Fido, and don't miss the overlook that provides a puptastic view of the boat launch and dock.

Experience the quieter side of the Brunswick Islands with your pooch in Winnabow!
