The village of Yale lies in the eastern portion of Illinois, and offers residents and visitors a small, charming, and welcoming atmosphere. Although there are no parks in Yale, the nearby town of Charleston offers three. Check out Morton Park in Charleston, which offers a kiddie playground, and picnic pavilions. 

Visit the Woodyard Conservation Area which is frequented by dog lovers for their great hiking trails around the lake, and offers restrooms on site.  

The Fox Ridge State Park is your third option, with a whopping 2,064 acres of outdoor adventure.  There is a beautiful assortment of valleys and forests which have miles of hiking trails running throughout. While there, you can climb the 144 step Eagle’s Nest Climb, which leads to an overlook of the river. Why not plan an overnighter with your fur-iendly pup at the on-site campground or cabins? Check out Peterson Park, in the City Center neighborhood of Newton, 16 miles southwest of Yale. There is an aquatic center and mini golf on site and beautiful open grassy spaces for you and your fur-ever friend to take a walk together on an extended leash.
