Dog Areas in Zionsville

1 Trail
8 Eateries
2 Groomers

The Indianapolis suburb of Zionsville is a fantastic place for dog-rearing, featuring both urban convenience as well as hometown amenities to suit its creatures. Zionsville has two veterinary clinics which also serve as groomers for the city’s pets, keeping them fit and stylish year-round.

The Zionsville Rail Trail is an excellent place for local pups to work off those empty calories from extra treats. The 3.7-mile trail runs from residential Zionsville to Eagle Creek, winding through beautiful wooded forests and alongside the Starkey Nature Park. The pathway is paved with asphalt and crushed stone and is wheelchair-accessible, so all dog owners can enjoy it!

There are 8 dog-friendly restaurants in this city alone, so you will never have to worry about having to get your meals to-go. Your pup can choose between fine dining, pizza, pasta, Mexican cuisine, seafood, or just skip dinner altogether and go straight for deserts at the local confectionery spot. Noah Grants Grill House and Oyster Bar is a favorite of both humans and canines, serving up creature comforts such as steak carpaccio, short-rib wontons, and their famous Looney Tuna Sushi Roll!

If your agile pupper is looking for a new spot to hone his craft, check out the pawesome obstacle course at The Humane Society of Indianapolis Dog Park! Aside from the furrific dog run, the park offers a mile and a half of wooded trails to blaze and picnic tables to relax with friends (both the furry ones and not so furry ones). Annual membership fees can be a little steep, at $75 a year for the first pet and $50 for each additional fur-iend, but daily passes are available for only $10! There are perks to the annual membership, though, as it grants you access to the park even after hours! No matter which you opt for, don’t miss out on this park!

The community of Beech Grove, about 25 miles southeast of Zionsville, is great place for pups with refined taste, and is home to the gorgeous members-only Paw Patch Dog Park. This picturesque bark park lies within the Sarah T. Bolton Park and offers a full acre of plush grass where your pups can fetch their hearts out. The bark park is fully fenced and features an electronic gate system with key entry to keep pups safe. No need to worry about your pup getting sick here either, as every doggy member has to provide their current vaccination records to obtain membership. Nestled against the White River, in the small community of North Crows Nest, lies the lovely Holliday Park. This stunning wooded park is home to a variety of plant and animal species, and there are several trails for your pooch to explore the sights and smells they have to offer! Pups paw-ticularly enjoy splashing around in the creek and shallow areas of the river, as well as the various terrain the trails offer. Be sure you keep your fur-iend leashed at all times, and you will need to bring doggy waste bags in case your pup has a “faux paw” in the park!

Ruffly 10 miles south of Zionsville lies the nature-centric neighborhood of Eagle Creek, home to the 6th largest metro park in the country. Eagle Creek Park is a real treat for the whole pack, featuring just about any activity your fur (and furless) family could dream of — nature trails, a tree-top rope course, a golf course, a sports complex, a beach area with swimming access, a concert venue, and, of course, a top-of-the-line bark park! Before you and your fur babies head out to the puppy playground, make sure you pick up a “pooch pass” from the main office. A day pass will run you about $5 per pet, and you will need to bring vaccination records to acquire one. You surely don’t want to miss out on this pawesome spot!
