Lake Bella Vista Trail is a walking trail which circles around one of the smaller lakes in Bella Vista, beginning at the Trailhead along Bella Vista Way and continuing on from there. The trail itself spans a little under two miles and offers both walking and biking options around scenic views of Bella Vista Lake. Dogs are welcome to utilize the trail as long as they remain on-leash for the duration of the visit, as there is local wildlife that shares the area as well. For those making their way around, the trail also collides with Veterans Parkway. Along the Parkway is access to the Veterans Wall of Honor, a monument that pays tribute and memorializes veterans throughout U.S. History. Bella Vista itself offers a moderate climate with humid summers and snowy winters, so preparation for the outdoors is necessary before venturing out.

Lake Bella Vista Trail lies along fairly flat ground throughout, so the area is perfect for those who struggle with more challenging terrain. The paved pathway and other park features like an iron bridge make for smooth strolling and a fun, easy way to get moderate exercise. Beware that on rainy days, the area can be prone to flooding due to the lake. In these cases, the trail will likely be closed off to the public.

Because the area is also technically a park, the pathways can get crowded on busy days. Expect plenty of bikers, children, families, and joggers to cross your path as you walk. It will likely be a rare occasion that you’ll have the trail to yourself. There are other options, however, where you can venture off the beaten path into some rougher terrain. Though, keep in mind that these offshoot trails are not for the inexperienced.

The trail shares space with the Lake Bella Vista Park, offering plenty of green space away from the paved trail to relax, run around, and enjoy. To the northeast bank of the Lake, not too far from the Veterans Wall of Honor, there sits the Lake Bella Vista Playground, offering a small area for children to run and play. Dogs are to remain on leash throughout all areas of the trail, including the park and the playground, for the safety of others, though they’ll likely enjoy the trail all the same. Bella Vista Lake offers some spectacular scenic views as well as more heavily wooded areas where walkers can enjoy the local flora, though there is a preference to the more open, green fields that can offer better views of fields of the flowers that grow in the spring. Watch for geese and ducks in these areas, as they are frequent visitors of the lake.
