Spinnaker Ridge at Woods Creek is a rural, residential subdivision to the northeast of Bentonville's central business area. This serene neighborhood has the best of both worlds with a country feel and a commercial area just to the northwest. The commercial section has a hotel, restaurant, shops, grocery store, and other services. Locals can enjoy walking their dogs in a quiet residential country-like atmosphere and still reach local businesses on foot.

Even in the winter, you can run over to the store as winter weather in Bentonville is usually above freezing and only light outerwear is required for pedestrian travel. Summers can be very hot on sunny days in this part of Arkansas. If you are traveling on foot in the heat of the day, plan a shady route with grass to keep your pup's paws from getting too hot on the pavement and pack water for both of you.

Spinnaker Ridge at Woods Creek is a beautiful, country-like community with lots of natural areas around it. While the residential road has only a slight incline down towards a cul-de-sac, the surrounding territory slopes down sharply with rough rocky terrain in the south towards the creek bed. There are no sidewalks on Spinnaker Ridge Road, however, traffic along this road is light with only local traffic as the road dead ends. The Woods Creek Road has more traffic, but it also has a paved dedicated pedestrian sidewalk to separate you from traffic.

Further to the east, the interstate and associated interchanges create a hazard for pedestrians and this area should be avoided when walking your dog. Homes in the area are large, brick, or stone construction with extensive lawns and mature trees. The area has a very green, cool feel that residents and their pets can appreciate on hot summer days.

The entire Spinnaker Ridge Road and Woods Creek Road area act like greenways with trees, lawns, and natural areas. The creek and ravine are heavily forested with natural trails in the area, however, these unmaintained trails can be treacherous depending on weather conditions and the terrain is rough.

A short 4-minute drive west will take residents to Memorial and Orchard Parks. Memorial Park has a large recreation area with athletic fields and a fitness trail. Orchard Park has open areas, a water feature, a pavilion, and an amphitheater. Both parks have restrooms and dog stations where you can dispose of dog waste. Most importantly, both parks provide access to the Razorback Greenway. This 36-mile greenway is a conglomeration of trails in Bentonville that runs roughly north-south. The trails provide access to numerous communities, retail and business areas, arts and entertainment areas, schools, and other parks. This greenway is an excellent place to walk your dog on a leash.
