Mesa Heights is an older community located in central Yuma that is well developed with mature landscaping, sidewalks, and boulevards. Mesa Heights has some more traditional landscaping in the way of trees and lawns than some other newer Yuma communities because of the length of time it has been established, which provides a change from the predominant desert landscaping. The area is very flat and not difficult to walk; the separate pedestrian walkways will help keep you and your dog protected from traffic. Pavement can be hot in the summer, you may want to invest in doggie boots to keep your pup's paws protected if walking on hot pavement in the area.

The surrounding area is well developed with lots of homes, business, shops and services, and roadways. There are natural and recreational areas nearby, which can be accessed on foot for a more varied walking experience including school grounds, sports fields, and developed parks.
