Huntington Beach in California is known as the Surf City because of its 9.5-mile stretch of sandy beach, sunny weather, surfing and casual lifestyle. The climate is usually sunny, dry and cool allowing visitors and residents to enjoy many outdoor activities. One can have fun at boat marinas, numerous parks, wildlife preserve, equestrian trails and, of course, their attractive beaches. Bring your dog and don’t let him miss out on all the fun.

Take your pup to paradise and go to Huntington Dog Beach. Huntington Dog Beach is perfectly located along the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), nestled between Seapoint Street and Golden West. Huntington Dog Beach has been named as one of the country's top 10 Fido-friendly beaches by Fido Friendly Magazine, as it offers 1.5 miles of pure sandy and sunny fun. Your pup will love digging in the sand, chasing other dogs, splashing and swimming in the water or a simple walk on the sand with you. How else would you spend a day in Huntington, if you wouldn't go to the beach?

Have your dog enjoy the freedom of running around and playing with other dogs in Huntington Beach Best Friend Dog Park. This off-leash dog park has two sections, one for small and challenged dogs and another for large dogs. It is a fenced area with trees and mulch ground cover. There are waste bag dispensers, trash cans, dog drinking stations with fresh water, benches, and donated tennis balls and dog toys for a pup to enjoy. This park is non-profit, supported by donations. Due to the inability of volunteers to continually staff the park, a box for donations is located as soon as you drive or walk in.

There are two separate areas -- one for large dogs and one for small dogs -- to ensure safe play. Your furry friend is bound to make a few new canine companions while you’re here. You and the other park goers can rest on the benches while your darling dogs work up a good sweat (or pant). The best part about this park is that there are snacks available! Who doesn’t love snacks? If you want to explore any of the park’s 350+ acres outside the dog park, your pup will need to be on a leash.
