Echo Park is a bustling central Los Angeles neighborhood duly named after Echo Park Lake. The gentrification of the neighborhood has allowed it to blossom into a vibrant hipster community dotted with colorful murals and featuring its own music festival in the summer. In its boundaries, you'll find diverse neighborhoods, beautiful greenways, and a section of Sunset Boulevard offering countless entertainment and dining options for you to enjoy on your daily outing.

The community is very walkable and you and your pet will have a fun time exploring all that Echo Park has to offer. Echo Park Lake is a popular spot for humans and animals alike. Along Sunset Boulevard, you'll find Sunset Pet & Supplies as well as Washing Spot, a groomer selling shampoos and other grooming supplies. The Affordable Animal Hospital Echo Park sits on Glendale Avenue just north of Sunset. You might even encounter a dog-friendly restaurant or two!

Echo Park features a mix of everything: busy streets with many storefronts, scenic parks, and winding residential streets. The neighborhood is fairly hilly, especially if you venture off Sunset Boulevard. The steep hills are worth it though, as they provide some of the most scenic views of Los Angeles' skyline. Some of the streets don't have sidewalks or are very narrow, but those are easily avoidable.

Spanning nearly 2.5 square miles, there are many places to explore in Echo Park. You and your pup will experience an enjoyable walk with plenty to discover from the shops on Sunset to the greenery surrounding the lake. Stick to streets like Sunset Boulevard or Glendale Avenue if you want to explore businesses or head over to Echo Park Lake for a more peaceful stroll. There's a lot of green space, especially around Echo Park Lake, but you'll encounter diverse foliage wherever you go.

As Echo Park is named after the park and lake that resides within it, it's no question you'll find a lot of green space throughout the neighborhood. The most well-known is Echo Park Lake and its surrounding greenway also named Echo Park. The park offers walking trails that take you around the lake to discover some magnificent city views. You can also rent a paddle boat for some fun on the lake. In the greener areas, remember to keep your pup on their leash.

The neighborhood also offers easy access to Dodgers Stadium and its surrounding greenways. Elysian Park features a variety of hiking paths that take you to some wonderful scenic stops. If you want more of a challenging walk with your pup, try your hand at climbing the Baxter Street Stairs. Echo Park is known for its long staircases throughout the area, but the Baxter Stairs are famous for its fantastic views, especially during sunset.
